Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe combines dramatic natural landscapes, major wildlife areas, cultural heritage and adventure experiences. The country is home to Victoria Falls, extensive national parks, the Zambezi River, Lake Kariba, the Eastern Highlands and the historic Great Zimbabwe monument. Travellers can combine waterfall experiences, wildlife safaris, walking and canoeing with cultural and historical exploration.
Adventure & Adrenaline
For travellers who want more than a view, the Victoria Falls area is one of Africa’s adventure capitals. Add a burst of adrenaline to your safari with rapids, high jumps and fast boats, all run by licensed local operators with safety briefings and equipment provided. Activities take place in Zimbabwe and Zambia and can be added to a Victoria Falls day trip.
Victoria Falls Experiences
Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, “the Smoke That Thunders”, Victoria Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared by Zimbabwe and Zambia. Bakololo runs day trips to the Zimbabwe side, so you can see the falls from the ground or from the sky and add other activities to your day. Options from Livingstone on the Zambian side can be included where your itinerary allows.
Victoria Falls Scenic Flights
The full scale of Victoria Falls is best appreciated from the air. Helicopter and light-aircraft flights reveal the zigzag gorges carved by the Zambezi, the ribbon of spray rising above the falls and the surrounding bushland and wildlife. Flights are short, usually around 12 to 15 minutes for the falls, and can be combined with ground tours. Weather and operator schedules affect availability, so we recommend booking ahead.
